Prime Minister John Briceno: Frontline workers are our heroes!

Posted: Wednesday, December 30, 2020. 6:13 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: During his New Year’s message today, Prime Minister John Briceno thanked all frontline workers and said that they are our heroes.

In speaking about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Briceno said that over 45,000 Belizeans have lost their jobs and many businesses remain closed as a result of measures in place to fight the virus.

Those challenges also brought about new small and micro businesses with Belizeans using their creativity to find income for their families.

“There are now more Belizean businesses and Belizeans continue to rediscover the beauty of Belize with tourists in country,” Briceno added.
