By BBN Staff: Today, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams urged all Belizeans to follow the necessary precautionary measures for a better 2021.
“Some people are expecting that because we enter into a new year things are automatically going to change for the better. They are of the belief that the ills of 2020 were left behind when we entered 2021,” Williams said.
He added that it is the people who must make a change if they want 2021 to be a better year.
“We cannot speak of change if we are not willing to be the change we wish to see. We cannot expect better results if we continue doing the same things that are tearing our society apart. We cannot expect change if we are not willing to stop acting reckless,” Williams stated.
The commissioner says that if the public wants a better 2021, we must all do our part.
“We cannot continue to ignore the need to wear our mask properly, the need for us to practice social distancing, the need for us to stop hosting or attending social events and the need for us to adhere to all the Covid19 protocols. The key to a better 2021 rest in all our hands, so lets make it happen by looking out for and protecting each other,” he expressed.
