By BBN Staff: The Police Association (PA), within the Belize Police Department, is looking after the health of its members by giving them grants to help them defray the cost of surgeries.
Three officers received grants of $1,200 today at a ceremony held at the National Police Traning Academy in Belmopan.
The PA said that the grants were made possible through barbecue sale fundraisers, and donations from businesses as well as the Office of the Commissioner of Police.
The Association also used the opportunity to thank the members of the public who supported the fundraisers and, by extension the officers, who benefitted from them.
