Government officials accompanied by police retrieve starting gate belonging to Peter August Horse track from private property

Posted: Wednesday, January 6, 2021. 10:09 am CST.

By BBN Staff: This morning, officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing, accompanied by police officers visited a compound in Red Creek, Santa Elena where they retrieved a starting gate belonging to the Peter August Horse track.

The starting gate was donated by Cayo Steel Works under the previous administration at the request of then Minister, Rene Montero.

However, the starting gate was destined to be used for the Peter August horse track under the management of the National Sports Council.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and E-Governance was reportedly informed that the missing starting gate was donated for the horse track and was eventually located at a private property reportedly belonging to former Minister Montero.

The starting gate will be housed at the Ministry of Works compound in Santa Elena and will be used for horse racing events.

After the November 11th elections, the new Briceno administration retrieved several heavy-duty equipment from private properties purportedly belonging to Montero.
