Cayo mother makes a plea for assistance to help her cancer warrior daughter

By BBN Staff: A Cayo mother is desperately pleading for public assistance to help her cancer warrior daughter meet an important doctor’s appointment in Guatemala City.

Melida Castaneda, a resident of San Jose Succotz, says that her 13-year-old daughter has been fighting a difficult battle with kidney cancer for five years and that the condition has progressed to Stage 4.

Castaneda says that their family needs financial assistance to meet a February 2, doctor’s appointment, having missed the last two appointments already.

She is also asking for support to hold a barbecue fundraiser on January 15.
