Downed high-voltage pole causes power outage in Belize district, BEL dispatches crews

By BBN Staff: Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) announced today that it has dispatched crews to conduct an assessment for repairs on a downed pole carrying high voltage lines that caused an unplanned power outage in several villages in the Belize district this morning.

The downed pole in Lords Bank Village caused the power outage at 9:51 a.m. to areas along the Philip Goldson Highway between the Airport Road in Ladyville and Biscayne, including Airport Road, Lords Bank, Los Lagos, Maxboro, Double Run, Salt Creek, Sandhill, all areas along the Old Northern Highway; Crooked Tree, Grace Bank, Gardenia and Biscayne.

BEL said that the crews are working to restore power to the affected areas as soon as possible.
