By Aaron Humes: As it so often does, Belize has made another list of desired places to travel – in this case, for residents of Boston, Massachusetts.

Boston Magazine has published a ‘dream list’ of places the historic city’s residents would like to go when things get back to normal – if they ever do.

Belize is described as ‘the size of New Hampshire’ (some say its more Massachusetts’ size) and “teems with adventure” – Maya archaeological sites; the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary; Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan Marine Reserve; both off Ambergris Caye; and even the Orange Walk Town Tacos Festival (those interested in that one will have to wait till November). And don’t forget the beaches on Ambergris or in Placencia or perhaps one of the smaller cayes.

The quickest way to get here is through Atlanta on Delta Airlines (make sure you bring proof of COVID-19 test or be prepared to pay for one, and download the Belize Health App beforehand).

Where to stay? The Magazine suggests private island Cayo Espanto offers seven secluded beach villas, so you can go your entire stay without seeing another guest. For easier access to Belize’s activities and attractions, check out the brand-new Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection opening in March.

Either way, come and enjoy.
