More Than 1.8 Million People Have Died From COVID-19 Worldwide

By BBN Staff: As the COVID-19 pandemic goes into its second year around the world, over 1.89 million people have lost their lives, statistics from Worldometer suggests.

The latest COVID-19 tally noted that global deaths stood at 1,894,851.

Global infections had climbed to 87 million, with the number of currently active cases going up to 22,635,261. Of the reactive cases, 108,025 (around 0.5 percent) are listed as being in either serious or critical condition.

Meanwhile, over 63 million people have recovered from the virus.

The US has over 21 million cases with more than 370,000 Americans losing their lives to the virus.

 India has recorded more than 10.4 million cases and 150,470 deaths; and Brazil 7.8 million cases and 199,043 deaths.

Belize has recorded 11,108 cases and 260 deaths. To date, 536 cases remain active.
