US authorities to bring charges against rioters

By BBN Staff: Authorities in the United States of America have charged 3 people in connection with Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol, CNN reported.

Among the 3 charged, is the man seen carrying the podium in a video.

On Friday, Adam Johnson was arrested and charged after he was caught carrying the podium of the House Speaker.

Johnson was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; one count of theft of government property; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Another person, Jacob Chansley was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Derrick Evans, was also charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds. Evans has since denied taking part in the riot. Evans claimed he only filmed the riot.
