By BBN Staff: The Belmopan City Council is warning all property owners who have not paid their property taxes or have arrears to make their payments or face consequences.
The Council said that delinquent property owners have until January 31, to settle their accounts.
“Failure to comply will result in Court action against property owners to recover outstanding property fee arrears,” the Council said.
Property owners were also warned that, as of January 31, 2021, the interest of 1% per month compounded will be charged on all outstanding property fees that were due and payable on or before April 1, 2020.
The added interest will be applied in accordance with Section 22 (4) Town Property Evaluation Act, Chapter 65, Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2011.
