Over 150 hotels requested permission to exceed the allowed 60% capacity.

According to state officials, almost a million tourists arrived in Quintana Roo during the period of December 22 to January 6.

Among those visitors, American tourists led the way with visits to the Mexican Caribbean.

Mexican authorities say that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the year-end numbers look good.

Tourists from other countries also visited Mexico.
