Over 48 pounds of weed found in Corozal

By BBN Staff: On Monday, Corozal police made a bust of over 48 pounds of weed.

Police report indicate that around 3:30 pm, they were in the Chula Vista area when they saw persons running away from a black vehicle.

Officers saw 2 parcels in plastic bags on a picnic table.

Beside the table, police also found 2 large garbage bags containing a total of 16 parcels of cannabis.

Three more parcels were found inside the vehicle.

All the parcels were weighed to a total of  22,089 grams or (48.698 pounds).

Police are investigating.
