Positivity rate of COVID-19 cases down over last few days

By BBN Staff: The world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 has changed the way we live, the way we study and the way we do business.

To date, there are 587 active cases of COVID-19 in Belize.

As a glimpse of hope, over the last few days the COVID-19 positivity rate has been low.

Analyzing the statistics of January 10,11, and 12^th, the positivity rate has seen a decrease in cases.

On January 10, of the 522 tests done, there was a positivity rate of 7% with 37 new cases identified.

A slight increase of 10% was seen on January 11 where of the 290 tests done, 29 new cases were identified.

Then, on Tuesday, of the 196 tests done, 34 new cases were identified.

As we go about our almost-normal daily lives, the Ministry continues to urge the public to adhere to all precautionary measures.

BBN joins the Ministry in advising the public to wear their masks and practice social distancing.
