Sharon Matola makes statement against manatee mutilation

By Sharon Matola: As BBN’s “Woman of the Year” for 2020…I would like to lodge a comment concerning a post I read in this morning’s issue of BBN.

Purposely defacing and possibly harming one of Belize s endangered West Indian Manatees by carving the name TRUMP on the back of this animal smacks of obscene cruelty, ignorance, and done by people who, sadly mirror the very person who was perversely featured in such a senseless act.

We are all fortunate that this political absurdity has only a few days remaining in office. I stand with many fellow Belizeans hoping and praying that the victimized Manatee, a Belizean treasure..has a chance to live out its life fully in our Caribbean Seas.
