More than 2 million people have died from COVID-19

By BBN Staff: The death toll from the COVID-19 global pandemic has exceeded 2 million, according to Worldometer.

As of 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2021, the total number of recorded deaths linked to the pandemic stood at 2,032,953.

The United States has the highest number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the world, 405,266. Brazil has the second-highest number of deaths, 209,350; and India the third-highest with 152,334.

The United Kingdom ranks fourth by the overall number of deaths with 88,950.

A total of 281 Belizeans have died from COVID-19.
