Belize Met Service: Cool weather continues

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that a cool and relatively moist northeasterly airflow dominates our weather.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy at times with isolated showers or periods of light rain and the chance for a few more over the south today. Shower activity will increase especially along the coast tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 80 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 73 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 68 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 63 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing Northeast at 10-20 knots, and the sea state will be moderate.

“A small craft warning will go into effect later today for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas,” the Met Service said.

Low tide occurred at 8:05 a.m. and high tide will come in at 1:54 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:40 p.m. and the moon will rise at 10:28 a.m.
