Malique Green is City’s latest murder victim

By Aaron Humes: Malique Green,21, is the City’s latest murder victim, shot dead on Sunday afternoon on Ross Pen Road after returning from a funeral. His shooter fired at him from a yard on the street.

Police say that at least ten persons are in detention as part of their investigations.

Green is no stranger to the law. He was brought in concerning a video now circulating from last year, in which he is heard threatening to rob a store and seen brandishing a gun. He was suspected of involvement in incidents in Belize City and Placencia and was a known gang member.

But according to Assistant Superintendent of Police Alejandro Cowo, he had just recently moved to the Caesar Ridge Road area and may have fallen afoul of rivals, though police have yet to establish a motive.

Police are searching for surveillance footage and eyewitnesses to support their investigations.
