Stepson dies after being stabbed by stepfather

By BBN Staff: A man is dead following a stabbing in the Cayo District yesterday.

Police say that on Sunday, Walter Gonzalez, 19, attempted to intervene in an argument between his mother and his stepfather Javier Zalan Choc.

During the exchange, Choc stabbed Gonzalez who was taken to the Western Regional Hospital (WRH) for treatment. Gonzalez was later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in critical condition and eventually died from his injury.

Police say that Choc will be arrested and charged for the incident.
