Police detain minor for drugs, guns, and ammunition

By BBN Staff: Police have detained a Belize City minor, 16, for being in possession of drugs along with an unlicensed gun and ammunition.

Reports are that the officers searched a house in Helmsley Alley on Tuesday, and found 17 wrapped parcels of marijuana weighing a total of 20,638.45grams (over 45 pounds). Officers also found two handguns, three magazines, and a tray containing 50 live rounds of ammunition.

The minor was detained in the presence of his mother pending charges.
