Authorities find large marijuana plantation in Consejo, Corozal

By BBN Staff: A joint operation of police officers and BDF soldiers conducted on Wednesday led to the discovery of a marijuana plantation of over 2,500 plants.

Police conducted the operation in Consejo, Corozal where they found the marijuana field.

The plants were between 5 and 6feet tall.

Authorities also found a shed that was used to process the marijuana into sacks for drying.

Police also found a 2nd marijuana field with over 3240 plants ranging from 1 and 2 feet tall. Three sheds were near the second plantation.

The total amount of processed marijuana was at just over 11 pounds.

No one was in the area at the time of the discovery.

The plantations were destroyed by fire.
