By BBN Staff: Specialist clinics at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital will be reopening next week, according to an official notice issued by the hospital authority (KHMHA).
The MHMHA said that specialist clinic services will resume as of Monday, January 25, 2021. The clinics will be opened to facilitate Day surgical cases for Oncological, Laparoscopic and Orthopedic surgeries.
“All patients being admitted for care at the KHMHA must undergo a Rapid SARS CoV-2 Test at the point of Triage and this may result in a confirmatory test,” the KHMHA said. “Patients scheduled for surgical intervention (Day Cases) must receive a PCR confirmation test at least 72 hours prior to surgery. Testing sites approved by KHMH will be the Triage Point, Specialist Outpatient Clinic and when necessary, Inpatient clinical areas of the KHMHA.”
The hospital authority also assured the public that it is taking several steps to ensure that visits to the facility as as safe from COVID-19 as possible. Those steps include but are not limited to: cleaning and daily decontamination after patient discharge; revising cleaning protocols to ensure effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting procedures for surfaces and reusable equipment; re-enforcing Infection Prevention and Control measures; and training and re-training of staff and sensitizing the public on safety measures to minimize spread of SARS CoV-2 Virus.
“We continue to ask the public’s kind assistance and understanding in adherence to these protocols as we continue to offer our highest level of care to you,” the KHMHA added.
