By BBN Staff: Today, the Elections and Boundaries Department informed of Statutory Instrument No. 4 of 2021, Representation of the People (Amendment) Rules, 2021 that has been enacted into law.
In order to facilitate persons who are 18 years and over who have not yet registered and wish to vote in the Wednesday, 3rd March 2021 Elections; all Elections and Boundaries Department Registration Offices countrywide will be open to the public on Saturday, January, 23, 2021 from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
Those who wish to get registered can do so as the deadline for persons wishing to vote in the elections scheduled for 3rd March 2021 is Monday, 25th January 2021.
To facilitate the process applicants are asked to present their:
Belizean Birth Certificate, accompanied by a Social Security Card or a photograph certified, stamped, and signed by a Justice of the Peace; OR
Belize Nationality Certificate without photograph, accompanied by a Social Security Card or a photograph certified, stamped, and signed by a Justice of the Peace; OR
Belizean Passport; OR
Commonwealth Passport (for Commonwealth Citizens)
The department warns that all COVID-19 protocols that are in effect will be strictly adhered to at all times.
