Police find over 600 grams of marijuana during weekend operations

By BBN Staff: Cayo police found over 600 grams of marijuana during anti-drug operations over the weekend.

On Saturday around 8:00 a.m., members of the Commander Operation Support Team along with a K9 unit searched an empty lot Mohablanca Street, Belmopan City, where the K9 Tyler found two transparent plastic bags under a rock containing 250 grams (just under nine ounces) of marijuana.

On the same day, just before 3:00 p.m., officers also searched an empty lot in the Hattieville Area of Roaring Creek Village, where the K9 found four transparent plastic bags in some bushes containing 455.9 grams (around one pound) of marijuana.

In both instances, no one was in the area at the time of the discovery and the drugs were labeled as found property.
