Associated Press: Mexico population rises to 126M; now older, better educated

By BBN Staff: Mexico’s population has risen to 126 million people, the Associated Press reports.

According to the country’s census, today, Mexicans are better educated and more are connected to the internet.

Data from the census indicates that 1.2 million Mexicans were born outside of Mexico – almost 800,000 of them in the US and that the level of education rose from 8.6 % in 2010 to 9.7 % in 2020.

Internet access also rose to reach 52% of households and 87% of households reported having a cellphone.
