Large assortment of drugs destroyed by police

By BBN Staff: Today, the Prosecution Branch of the Belize Police Department held a drug destruction exercise in the Belize District.

The destruction occurred between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Included were 428 parcels of cannabis, of which 410 were found property.

Eighteen parcels of cannabis was from concluded cases.

All to a total of 605 pounds.

Authorities also destroyed 15.6grams of crack cocaine and 529.8grams of cocaine.

All items were from operations conducted in the Belize District over 1 year.

Those present at the destruction were Officer Commanding Prosecution Branch, a magistrate, a clerk of court, exhibit keeper and a member from the Government Press office.
