Caribbean has seen more than 440,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: There have been more than 440,000 cases of COVID-19 reported in the Caribbean, according to the regional media outlet Loop.

As of today, January 28, 2021, the total number of reported infections in the region stood at 441,879.

The breakdown by country for infections, deaths, and recoveries is as follows:

Dominican Republic- 207,455 cases, 2579 deaths, 150,804 recoveries; 

Puerto Rico- 85,954 cases, 1801 deaths; 

Cuba- 23,439 cases, 204 deaths, 18,325 recovered; 

French Guiana- 15,857 cases, 76 deaths, 9995 recovered;

Jamaica- 15,435 cases, 344 deaths, 11,961 recovered; 

Belize- 11,816 cases, 294 deaths, 11,236 recovered; 

Haiti- 11,370 cases, 244 deaths, 9016 recovered; 

Guadeloupe- 9097 cases, 154 deaths, 2242 recovered; 

Suriname- 8243 cases, 152 deaths, 7433 recovered; 

Bahamas- 8161 cases, 175 deaths, 6754 recovered; 

Trinidad and Tobago- 7509 cases, 134 deaths, 7077 recovered; 

Guyana- 7380 cases, 174 deaths, 6488 recovered; 

Aruba- 6809 cases, 58 deaths, 6378 recovered; 

Martinique- 6402 cases, 45 deaths, 98 recovered; 

Curacao- 4567 cases, 20 deaths, 4466 recovered; 

US Virgin Islands- 2384 cases, 24 deaths, 2266 recovered; 

Sint Maarten- 1807 cases, 27 deaths, 1625 recovered; 

Barbados- 1443 cases, 11 deaths, 1079 recovered; 

Turks and Caicos- 1387 cases, 8 deaths, 1051 recovered; 

Saint Martin- 1146 cases, 12 deaths, 1006 recovered; 

Saint Lucia- 969 cases, 13 deaths, 493 recovered; 

St Vincent and the Grenadines- 827 cases, 2 deaths 174 recovered; 

Bermuda- 689 cases, 12 deaths, 648 recovered; 

Cayman Islands- 385 cases, 2 deaths, 356 recovered; 

Bonaire- 362 cases, 3 deaths, 333 recovered; 

Saint Barthelemy- 300 cases, 1 death, 204 recovered; 

Antigua and Barbuda- 215 cases, 6 deaths, 174 recovered; 

Grenada- 148 cases, 1 death, 136 recovered;  

Dominica- 117 cases, 106 recovered; 

British Virgin Islands- 114 cases, 1 death, 95 recovered; 

Saint Kitts and Nevis- 37 cases, 35 recovered;

Sint Eustatius- 20 cases, 19 recovered; 

Anguilla-16 cases, 15 recovered; 

Montserrat- 13 cases, 1 death, 12 recovered;  

and Saba- 6 cases, 5 recovered.
