Churches now reopen for one hour; food vendors can return to stations

By Aaron Humes: Let the Church say “Amen!” – they can now reopen again.

Starting next Monday, services will be allowed for an hour at a time, at 50 percent of building capacity, Minister Kareem Musa announced.

Also returning on Monday, the Commercial Free Zone, Corozal, will host customers subject to temperature checks at the entrance. There has previously been checks by Government of businesses in order to ensure that the Free Zone can reopen.

Musa also announced that the system of violation tickets under the Public Health and Safety Act, including breaking of curfew, mask wearing and social distancing, begins on Monday.

Contact sports are still banned and all involved will be ticketed. Regulations on entry and behavior at the International Airport is also covered.

The standard fine is $500.

Food vendors may return to their stations and set up markers for social distancing for customers.
