Minister of Health announces lifting of inter-district travel ban

By Aaron Humes: Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat announced that a ban on inter-district travel will be lifted.

He noted that the behavior of the public is key to maintaining a lower positivity rate, which has been cut in half between mid-December and January 23.

But this is not the time to let down our guard, the Minister warned, citing recent lockdown in Barbados. A third wave is inevitable and the Government is preparing for it.

Concerning vaccine access, vaccines through the COVAX facility will be available by March or April, but bilateral discussions are underway for assistance.
