Well-known vendor shot and killed inside his shop in Maya Mopan

By BBN Staff: Well-known Maya Mopan vendor, Abel Bardales was shot on Friday afternoon inside his shop in the village.

According to police reports, around 3:37 p.m. Bardales was inside of his shop along with 2 other sales representatives from Big H when a lone gunman approached and ordered them on the ground.

The sales reps got on the floor and as Bardales was going down, a struggle ensued between him and the culprit.

The culprit then shot Bardales several times. Bardales tried to escape by running towards his neighbor but he collapsed.

Bardales died shortly after.

The investigation is ongoing.
