Commissioner of Police: Violators of the COVID-19 regulations  will now be ticketed

Posted: Monday, February 1, 2021. 11:39 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams warned that violators of the COVID-19 regulations that became effective today will now be ticketed.

Williams said that those who violate the curfew, social distancing, and wearing of mask regulations will be issued a $500.00 ticket.

The ticket must be paid within 15 calendar days. Where the ticket is not paid with the stipulated time, the fine shall increase by $10.00 for each day the ticket is not paid. Other offenses are arrestable and carry a fine of $1,000.00.

“These measures are put in place for our safety. Many were crying for some relaxation of the measures, so now you have it. It is now our responsibility to ensure that we adhere to these protocols in order for the infection numbers to continue decreasing,” Williams said.
