Mayoral Candidate Ramon “Monchi” Quiroz elected in PUP’s delegate convention

By BBN Staff: On Sunday, the People’s United Party held a delegate convention to elect a Mayoral candidate and councilor candidates to represent them in the upcoming municipal elections in March for the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council.

Mayoral candidate, Ramon “Monchi” Quiroz emerged victorious garnering 108 votes. Mayoral candidates Joe Awe, Marconi Matus, Luis Ayala, and Joe Gabb received 90,42, 25, and 20 respectively.

Victorious councilor candidates were Alberto Palma, Shirlene Neal, Matthew Preston, Zahir Figueroa, Omar Rodriguez, and Aaron Mai.

Councilor candidate, Matthew Preston topped the polls with 199 votes.

This team will attempt to unseat 3-term UDP Mayor Earl Trapp.
