Ministry of Health and Wellness: COVID-19 infections nearing 12,000

By BBN Staff: The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Belize is approaching 12,000 according to data released today by the Ministry of Health and Wellness ( MOHW ).

The latest national update, which covers the period January 31-February 1, shows that there have been 38 newly-confirmed infections, bringing the national total up to 11,945.

The new cases were discovered among a sample batch of 902 tests.

Of the national total, there are 290 active cases.

The MOHW also has 83 suspected cases under investigation.
