New COVID-19 regulations become effective today

By BBN Staff: The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams reminded the public this morning of the new COVID-19 restrictions that became effective at midnight.

Curfew for adults has been extended from 10 pm to 5 am.

The curfew does not apply to members of the security forces, customs officers, immigration officers, and employees of hospitals who are on duty.

Curfew for minors remains from 6 pm to 5 am.

Those who are granted a pass by the Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth or his designate can also be out during curfew. Passes are only issued for essential purposes.

Parents leaving work after 6 pm are allowed to pick up their child from the babysitter and go home with the child without committing an offense.

The wearing of face masks remains mandatory except for driving alone or with members of his/ her household in any vehicle. This does not apply to motorcycles and golf carts.

Persons who are partaking in any of the authorized sporting activities are not allowed to wear a mask.

Social distancing remains a must when in any public space.
