By BBN Staff: On Monday, the Corozal Free Zone officially re-opened after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A long line of vehicles was seen on the Mexican side heading to the Free Zone.
Along the highway, sanitation centers were set.
Director of the Cámara de Comercio de la Zona Libre, Daniel Mora said that the amount was much greater than expected, Riviera Maya News reports.
Approximately 3,000 people arrived and 382 rapid tests were conducted and 72 PCR tests.
According to the report about 70% of the stores re-opened.
The border between Mexico and Belize remains closed.
