Mexico runs out of COVID-19 vaccines

By BBN Staff: On Thursday, Mexico reportedly ran out of COVID-19 vaccines. A government registration website crashed for the 3rd straight day.

Meanwhile, hundreds of restaurant workers protested in Mexico City asking the Government to re-open restaurants.

The crowd was banging cooking pots and chanting “Either we open, or we die!”

At this time, Mexico City only allows take-out service with open air dining only at some locations.

However, employees say that-that isn’t enough to keep them going.

Hospitals are reportedly almost filled to capacity and many are dying since it takes hours to find available beds.

On Thursday, the country posted a near-record daily COVID-19 death toll of 1682.

In addition, 5 cases of the UK variant has been found in Mexico.

The country is now trying to line up shipments of the Pfizer and Russian Sputnik vaccines, but no new doses are expected to arrive until mid-month.
