By BBN Staff: Belizean born athlete, Rakeem Nunez Roches will participate in this Sundays’ Superbowl.
Nunez- Roches was born in Dangriga where he spent his early years before his mom, Nancy decided to move to the United States of America.
They moved around states as Nancy searched for jobs. In an interview, Roches even said that they slept in a car when they had nowhere to go.
When Rakeem was a junior in High School, his mom found job as a medical coder at a hospital near Pheonix City.
Coaches and football enthusiasts quickly noticed Rakeem’s abilities and his path from Pheonix City led him to Southern Miss and then to an NFL career.
Rakeem’s career reaches a major milestone tomorrow as he will display his abilities on football’s biggest stage, the Superbowl.
Nunez-Roches will be playing defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when the Bucs take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.
The showdown will be the ultimate highlight for Nunez-Roches, who has endured hard times and obstacles going back to his youth but repeatedly bounced back while keeping his dream of playing football alive.
