Belize Electricity Limited gives advanced notice of planned power outage

By BBN Staff: Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) has given advanced notice of a planned power outage in the Stann Creek district set for Friday, February 12.

The outage is set to run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will affect the Placencia Peninsula from Surfside Lagoon Residences to Plantation, including Plantation, Laguna Bonita, Grey Fox Road, Ford Drive, and Seine Bight.

BEL said that the purpose of the outage is to “conduct system upgrades by energizing newly-built underground high voltage power lines to replace overhead high voltage power lines in the area.”
