More than 470,000 COVID-19 infections in the Caribbean

By BBN Staff: There are more than 470,000 confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Caribbean, according to the regional media outlet Loop.

Loop’s latest Caribbean update puts total infections for the region at 473,787.

The breakdown for regional cases, deaths, and recoveries by country is as follows:

Dominican Republic- 222,148 cases, 2801 deaths, 165,659 recoveries;

Puerto Rico- 88,352 cases, 1872 deaths;

Cuba- 32,011 cases, 233 deaths, 26,039 recovered;

Jamaica- 16,841 cases, 357 deaths, 12,225 recovered;

French Guiana- 16,296 cases, 79 deaths, 9995 recovered;

Belize- 12,013 cases, 306 deaths, 11,468 recovered;

Haiti- 11,758 cases, 245 deaths, 9137 recovered;

Guadeloupe- 9226 cases, 155 deaths, 2242 recovered;

Suriname- 8619 cases, 158 deaths, 7939 recovered;

Bahamas- 8256 cases, 176 deaths, 6819 recovered;

Guyana- 7887 cases, 179 deaths, 6901 recovered;

Trinidad and Tobago- 7612 cases, 135 deaths, 7255 recovered;

Aruba- 7168 cases, 62 deaths, 6747 recovered;

Martinique- 6484 cases, 45 deaths, 98 recovered;

Curacao- 4605 cases, 21 deaths, 4530 recovered;

US Virgin Islands- 2456 cases, 24 deaths, 2371 recovered;

Sint Maarten- 1921 cases, 27 deaths, 1764 recovered;

Saint Lucia- 1813 cases, 18 deaths, 875 recovered;

Barbados- 1676 cases, 18 deaths, 1349 recovered;

Turks and Caicos- 1654 cases, 9 deaths, 1274 recovered;

Saint Martin- 1234 cases, 12 deaths, 1050 recovered;

St Vincent and the Grenadines- 1170 cases, 3 deaths, 377 recovered;

Bermuda- 692 cases, 12 deaths, 670 recovered;

Cayman Islands- 400 cases, 2 deaths, 368 recovered;

Bonaire- 366 cases, 3 deaths, 358 recovered;

Saint Barthelemy- 360 cases, 1 death, 247 recovered;

Antigua and Barbuda- 288 cases, 7 deaths, 187 recovered;

Grenada- 148 cases, 1 death, 146 recovered;

Dominica- 121 cases, 110 recovered;

British Virgin Islands- 114 cases, 1 death, 95 recovered;

Saint Kitts and Nevis- 40 cases, 36 recovered;

Sint Eustatius- 20 cases, 20 recovered;

Anguilla-17 cases, 15 recovered;

Montserrat- 15 cases, 1 death, 12 recovered;

and Saba- 6 cases, 6 recovered.
