By BBN Staff: It was a plight under the previous administration as potato farmers in La Gracia, Cayo would request the ceasing of potato importation.
Recently, farmers in La Gracia Village began harvesting potato and were again concerned about importation of potatoes since locally produced potatoes are now available.
Today, Agriculture Minister Jose Mai met with the farmers in the village to listen to their concerns and committed that under his watch, the Ministry will be on top of the permits to ensure that local farmers can sell their produce.
Mai says that he is committed to helping the small farmers and producers.
