By BBN Staff: In the election of the Belize Condominium Association in 2019, former Marco Island City council vice chair Victor Rios is being accused for forgery.
Rios is being accused of 3 counts of forgery of a ballot envelope and 3 counts of criminal use of personal identification information.
According to Naples Daily News, an investigation revealed that several condo residents had ballots cast in their names and they did not authorize it.
The investigation indicated that the ballot envelopes contained the personal identification information of the victims.
The DNA on the envelopes matched that of Rios.
Belize condo resident, Joseph Fleming has said that he is glad the investigation is moving forward.
Fleming alleged that Rios did it to get himself and another candidate re-elected to the board of directors.
