Police may have found the weapon used in the shooting this morning

By BBN Staff: Police believe they have recovered the weapon used in a Belize City shooting this morning.

Around 10:19 a.m. Jose Santos, 43, a truck driver for Kee’s Bakery was shot multiple times to the body while making a delivery at Tow Tow Shop on Mahogany Street.

He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and is listed as being in stable condition.

During their initial investigation, police say they searched a drain on the nearby Carnation Street and found a .9mm pistol, which had in one live round of ammunition.

Police investigations continue.
