By BBN Staff: Belize Diesel & Equipment Co. Ltd. is the only authorized Toyota distributor in Belize and has dealerships in Belize City and Belmopan. Belize Diesel boasts a team of over 60 professional men and women that are trained to accomplish the highest level of customer service and Toyota values.

Recently, Belize Diesel decided to hire 19-year-old Kristin Majarrez; a young, vibrant, and intelligent individual who now works in the car sales department. The company takes this opportunity to introduce her to the Belizean public.

Kristin came to Belize Diesel & Equipment Co. Ltd. as a student for an on-the-job training and discovered that she really likes selling Toyota. Her favorite part, she declares, is the wholesome and unique interaction produced with every client.“Which is the best Toyota vehicle that you like selling?” Her response: “The Toyota Prado!”

Of course, the Toyota Prado is the bestselling SUV in Belize and it comes with a powerful 4-cylinder diesel turbo charged engine. The Prado has ample interior space, 7 air bags, dual air conditioning, leather, reverse camera and many more features.

The Toyota Prado TXL starts at around $90,000 duty free and the most popular model is the TXL high with the leather package which sells for around $109,000 duty free. This vehicle comes with a 5-year or 100,000 kilometers warranty. The Prado is very affordable with a $1,800.00 monthly payment plan * (20% down payment) or a lease package. Photos can be viewed on Toyota Belize website, Belize Diesel’s Facebook page, or on Instagram.

If you ask anyone who has ever owned a Prado what they think of this vehicle, the response is very positive and the reviews favorable. The Prado’s keep on going and in some cases, Prado’s are returned to the Belize Diesel workshop with over 600,000 kilometers, with only routine maintenance.

In 2021, the Toyota Prado gets an upgrade with a new 2.8-liter diesel engine that is 20 percent more powerful, quieter and 10 percent more fuel efficient. A new 10-inch screen with Apple Car Play™ and Android Auto™ features make life easy. The reverse camera feature is now standard in all models of the Prado.

Also coming later this year is the newly redesigned Toyota Hilux. This is the most preferred pick-up truck across the world and with a 2.8-liter diesel engine, it is more powerful and fuel efficient than its predecessor.

For those that think Toyota is not affordable…. think again. Banks are now offering up to 7 years car financing on Toyota vehicles. Toyota takes its place as the highest resale value brand for 2020 according to industry analysts.

So, invest in a new Toyota and buy from the authorized dealer that will sell you specific models authorized for sale in Belize. Be careful with third party brokers reselling Hilux’s imported from Mexico. Mexican market Hilux’s require low sulfur diesel which is not currently available in Belize. Also note third party brokers cannot offer you the appropriate warranty of 5 years/100,000 kilometers.

The new working hours for Belize City branch of Belize Diesel & Equipment Co Ltd. are from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In Belmopan, the opening hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
