By BBN Staff: There were less than 10 newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, making it the second-lowest count for a single day in 2021.

The latest data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, issued today, showed that only nine positive cases were detected from a sample batch of 266 tests.

The nine cases were split between five females and four males.

Belize’s national total for confirmed cases now stands at 12,079, with 237 of those cases still active, and another 129 suspected cases still under investigation.

The lowest count in a single day was 5 new cases, reported last week.
