Armed robbery reported in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Shopkeeper, Evelin Diaz was the victim of an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday evening in Belize City.

Diaz told police that around 6:35 pm, she was in her store when a man came to purchase cigarettes.

Diaz says that as she was getting the item, the man pushed his hand through the burglar bars, pointed a gun at her, and snatched her 10k red gold chain with dolphin and moon medal off her neck.

The thief then escaped.

An investigation is ongoing.
