Body of missing child found in Melchor de Mencos

By BBN Staff: Guatemalan authorities have confirmed via local sources that the body of 8-year-old Sharon Jasmine Figueroa Arriaza was discovered this afternoon.

Arriaza’s lifeless body was found in Melchor de Mencos.

The Governor of Peten is calling on the authorities to find the person responsible for the heinous act.

Sharon went missing on Tuesday while playing with her bike in her backyard in the La Ceibita area of Melchor.

An intense search for the child began and last night, her bike and clothes were found.

Authorities are investigating.
