Road traffic accident in Dangriga leaves one dead

By Aaron Humes: A road traffic accident on the Hummingbird Highway on the outskirts of Dangriga Town on Tuesday night left one person dead and several others injured.

The incident is believed to have happened around Mile 3 and involved a single vehicle.

Names of at least two persons involved have been released but we are not aware if their families have been directly informed.

Graphic videos posted online from the crash site showed persons lying on the highway in various states of injury or unconsciousness as responders tried to assist them. Three persons are believed to have been taken to the Southern Regional Hospital along the highway for treatment.

We await a formal police report on the incident and will provide details as we get them.
