By Aaron Humes: Following the contretemps between the former Election and Boundaries Commission chairman Steve Perrera and the new John Briceno administration, the latter has moved to appoint a new grouping, with Senate approval.
The new chair is Oscar Sabido Puga, Senior Counsel and attorney. He is joined by former parliamentarian Conrad Lewis and former member Orlando Espat.
From the Opposition side comes former member, Phillipa Griffith-Bailey and former chairman, Alberto August.
They shall each be appointed for five years.
Courtenay again, responding to NGO senator Osmany Salas, promised the Commission would be reformed in the current term of office.
This motion, as well as that of the National Assembly Staff Committee and one on joining the International Solar Alliance (ISA) were passed as the Senate concluded around 10:30 a.m.
