Government discusses new E-Passport system

By BBN Staff: Over the years, Belizeans have consistently complained of the outdated and tedious process for passport applications.

Those long lines and number taking days may very well be long gone.

At a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, cabinet supported a request by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Immigration for the replacement of the outdated and obsolete passport system with a new and modern e-passport system.

The new system would include biometric data which will be more secure and allow for greater efficiency.
