18-wheel truck carrying barge overturns on Philip Goldson Highway, backs up traffic

By Aaron Humes: Breaking Belize News is at the scene of an apparent traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway just outside Belize City when approaching Ladyville, just after the Haulover Bridge.

Apparently, an 18-wheel truck carrying a barge overturned across the road as it was attempting to back into a property on the right side of the highway, next to AQ Car Rentals. The barge fell off the truck and onto the highway.

The accident has caused trafficking blocks for miles on either side as authorities direct the flow on the nation’s busiest section of road.

No injuries have been reported.

Motorists in that area are urged to exercise caution.
