Homeless man attacks restaurant patron and police officer, gets shot in leg

By BBN Staff: Police shot a machete wielding homeless man over the weekend to reportedly stop him from a violent rampage.

The man was identified as Clarence Ramos Jr., 46. Reports are that around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, Ramos went to Lee Reesee Restaurant on Marine Parade, Belize City, and chopped one patron, Akeem Patterson, to the head for no apparent reason.

Upon police arrival, Ramos attempted to chop one PC Garbutt, who took his service weapon and shot Ramos so he could be subdued.

Both Ramos and Patterson were taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.
